Where It All Began
It all began with this little girl who liked to pick out and match her own outfits. Next, she started drawing everyday after school, using the whole box of crayons to make intricate designs and patterns. Markers were her best friend. As she got a little bit older, she used to create her own fonts…trying to see how many different ways she could draw the letter “C” or the letter “E.” Then she started recreating the fonts that bands would use on album covers, all by hand. She continued to draw, using her insane love of hand lettering to design the banners at prom. When it was time for college, she decided she must go into graphic design due to her love of fonts and letters.
A complete line-up of art classes ranging from painting to drawing to design made college a match made in heaven. A 4.0 was even acheived, along with a belief that a career in the arts was possible. After a visit to Paris, New York and Boston, this passion, curiosity and enthusiasm for all things visual was permanently fixed.
This fixation continued with a landscape architecture firm in Denver, then a mid-sized architectural firm in Philadelphia. Presentations, proposals and logos were all part of the everyday. Design programs were mastered. A move back to Colorado and another six years spent in marketing departments furthered her design skills and created a wide-ranging skill set. Print was still around but digital environments became the norm. Websites, social media and marketing strategy all became part of her expertise. I can share all my knowledge and design skills with you, crafting campaigns and creating graphics for your business to thrive.
I’ve been lucky that what I loved as a kid transfered into a profession as an adult. I now just use the computer instead of markers and crayons. (I still love markers and crayons, by the way!)
