My Story

Vibrant

The one word I use to describe myself is Vibrant. The definition of vibrant is:

  1. Full of energy and life.
  2. (of colour) bright and striking.

Fittingly, I am energetic and am drawn to color. I love the way certain colors play off each other in nature. I try to capture these effects in my graphics, infusing them with energy and life.

Design is Everywhere

Inspiration

I believe inspiration can come from anywhere, you just have to keep an eye out for it! Because I am a designer, this happens often for me. Below are some of the visuals that inspired this site.

Cactus in San Francisco

(right)
I saw this cactus in a yard in San Francisco, while busily walking somewhere else. I was so struck by it, I had to stop and admire it for several minutes. What a perfect spiral! What amazing silver color! So endlessly fascinating to me…

Japanese Garden in Portland

(below)
Order and serenity does change one’s mood. It was so calming and peaceful here, I felt like I could stay forever. How often do you really take to slow things down on an average day?!

Palo Duro Canyon in Amarillo

(middle left)
Similar in look to the Grand Canyon (although, not nearly as big!), this canyon in Amarillo, Texas constantly inspires a person. The red earth and rocks, along with the silver brush are striking.

Horned Grebe from Vancouver

(middle center)
The main inspiration for my logo was this Native American print I picked up in Vancouver many years ago. I love this style of artwork and how the linework goes so gracefully from thick to thin.
